Dr. Judy Fluor Runels PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

For over 20 years Dr. Judy Fluor Runels has been successfully treating individuals, couples, families and groups. Dr. Fluor Runels is a licensed clinical psychologist who assists clients to improve their lives, find better tools to address problems, and improve overall life satisfaction. She also has extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), one of only two empirically supported methods for couples therapy.

She collaborates with clients struggling with issues such as: anxiety, depression, stress, grief, past and present trauma, bereavement/loss, addiction/sobriety, caregiver burnout, living with chronic or terminal illnesses and relationship difficulties. Utilizing a harm reduction model, she has facilitated support groups for adults with substance abuse issues.

Because of her extensive knowledge and experience, she has lectured at HIV/AIDS conferences, assisted with HIV training for the County of Orange, and facilitated workshops on pain management, maintaining sobriety, depression, anxiety and coping with stress. In addition, Dr. Fluor Runels passionate dedication has been recognized with a 2010 award from the Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative, for contributions made to cancer relief and palliative and hospice care; and in 2013, with the Orange County Register honoring her as an outstanding volunteer for her work with individuals living with HIV/AIDS with the Orange County AIDS Services Foundation (OCASF). She also supervises interns at the masters and doctoral level.

Dr. Fluor Runels earned her Master’s and Doctoral Degrees at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP-AIU). She is currently on the Medical Staff at Huntington Beach Hospital's Department of Psychiatry.

Living with HIV and AIDS

This is an opportunity to gain support for those living with HIV/AIDS. All are welcome to join this monthly support group to discuss the challenges, and find support and comfort while trying to cope with the stresses of living with HIV/AIDS.
